The case of WOM Chile
In 2014, both Kris and Pablo were responsible for the acquisition of Nextel Chile, a small telecom operator in Chile.
They quickly partnered with Novator Partners, a successful private equity firm based in London. Together they rebranded, later launching it as “WOM”, a new player focused on disrupting the Chilean telecommunication market, establishing the new brand as a customer favorite and growing their subscribers base fast. The successful execution of the business strategy has transformed WOM from a market entrant to over 20% market share in less than 5 years.
Today, WOM is considered a well-established player with a brand that appeals to the entire Chilean population, achieving healthy EBITDA margin (~30%) and solid positive free cash flow
The case of WOM Colombia
In 2019, Kris and Pablo led the acquisition of Avantel, a failed telecommunications operator in Colombia. In 2022, Avantel was merged with WOM Colombia. Kris and Pablo are minority partners with Novator in WOM Colombia, To date, the owners of WOM Colombia have deployed over USD800 million in capital to build the fourth operator in Colombia.
